[技术] 老外做滴蒸汽火车模型我们来欣赏欣赏.

蒸汽火车模型 RRSC 4-4-0

I was off all last week and made some good progress. I'm getting darned close to being able to test-ride this sucker!

A question about the crosshead pump plumbing... in the 1:20 scale live steam I'm used to, locos with axle pumps have bypass valves that feed some/all of the water back into the tender so the boiler doesn't over-fill. On the RRSC drawings, there is no bypass, and I see no way to regulate the water supply to the crosshead pumps either. Am I missing something or are the pumps simply incapable of over-filling the boiler?

To connect the valve gear rocker arm to the lubricator, I went with a cable (R/C flexible pushrod). I made this bracket to affix to the rear of the rocker arm and pick up the cable.

Here's the bracket attached to the rocker arm. Another piece was made to mount to the crosshead frame and mount a cable clamp.

The cable runs aft and is secured to the rear two running board brackets with additional clamps. The water bypass lines also attach to the running board brackets with clamps I fabricated, using the same bolts used to attach the running boards themselves.

The cable then feeds up through a hole in the running board and drives the lubricator arm.

The cable itself is 1/16 diameter of steel strand weave and rides inside a slick nylon tube. I slipped some black glass weave electrical sleeving over the nylon for appearance. The ends are crimped and soldered into 2-56 threaded couplers which are then inserted into DuBro Heavy Duty EZ Connectors mounted into the control arms, allowing the connection to swivel as the respective arm swings through its arc. These will have jam-nuts.
The cable is made for controlling large scale R/C aircraft control surfaces which can produce some respectable forces and are in relatively constant motion. The cable is in tension when forcing oil through the rams and to the cylinders. In compression it's merely pushing the actuating arm back against a light ratchet. Total cable travel is roughly 3/4", and I see no evidence of cable flexing or lost motion at the lubricator when spinning the drivers. Time will tell how well it holds up, but I'm reasonably confident.

The shoes are temporarily held in place with screws. I'm going to mount them with threaded rod, wedge washers and square nuts (once I make them).
