自己动手做电池


这是第一铅酸我内置电池
这是一个普兰特细胞构建铅废料从当地购买金属商人约50℃。
它有12个80毫米x 55毫米板测量。

This is the first lead acid battery I built.
It is a Plante cell and was constructed from lead bought from the local scrap metal merchants for about 50c.
It has 12 plates measuring 80mm x 55mm.
The separators were taken from an old dead automotive battery and cut to size.
The plates and separator were first assembled into the plastic case then two strips of lead were cut to size to form the bus bars then soldered to the connecting tabs of each plates.

Forming:
I am yet to discover the exact methods for forming a Plante cell but below is the procedure I used.
The cell was charged to 2.50v with a current of 50mA. Then the charging polarity was reversed and again the cell was charged to 2.50v.
This procedure has been repeated about 30 times. See Forming for more info plate formation.

Forming:
Forming is the process in which the active materials are formed on the plates. When a voltage is applied to the plates a thin film of lead peroxide is formed on the positive plate. If the charging polarity is reversed this thin film of peroxide (or PB02) will be converted to sponge lead on the negative plate. Sponge lead is a pourus form of lead. This increases the surface area available to the acid and thus increases the capacity. As this process of charging and reversal is continued the amount of sponge lead on the plates will increase. If continued indefinitely both plates will be entirely converted into sponge lead and fall to bits.

电解质:
该elctrolyte用的是36%,硫酸和水。见 电解质

The elctrolyte used was 36% sulfuric acid and water. See Electrolyte

电解质时总是洁具手套,眼保护和旧衣服及避免烟雾呼吸。
这是更好地完成在后院外,您有足够的通风。
当添加酸的水慢慢地做,而sturring它。
它会变得非常热,打破习惯使用的东西或裂纹的热生成的。
使用塑料容器煮沸证明如果可能的话。
始终添加酸对水切勿将水加入酸。
When making electrolyte always ware gloves, eye protection and old clothes and avoid breathing in the fumes.
This is better done outside in the backyard where you have ample ventilation.
When adding the acid to the water do it slowly while sturring it.
It will get very hot so use something that wont break or crack from the heat generated.
Use a boil proof plastic container if possible.
And always add the acid to the water NEVER ADD WATER TO ACID.
